About Patrick Leahy

Patrick is a 20-year industry veteran as a senior operating and development executive in the live entertainment business and has held top positions in 5 major public/private partnerships, most notably as Chief Operating Officer of Clear Channel Entertainment's (now Live Nation) Music Group Venues. Previous to his appointment as COO, he was Executive Vice President of the Music Group Venues. In his role as EVP of the music group venues, representing billions of dollars in revenue, Patrick has extensive operations experience covering over 65 live entertainment venues ranging from clubs and theaters to 38 major amphitheaters in 49 U.S. Markets and relationships in the entertainment business. Patrick also is the Founder and Managing Director of 409 Management & Consulting. 

Theater and operations in the family blood, Leahy attended the University of Cincinnati, College Conservatory of Music (CCM), studying Opera Musical Theater Production and Broadcasting, receiving a BFA from CCM including 3 year lettermen recognition with the university's football team. Working summers in the early 1980's managing the 10,000 seat Timberwolf Amphitheater at Kings Island Amusement Park and winters at the production shop eventually lead back to the theater and following college, various positions with stage and Broadway touring productions. Patrick's unique background of theater and concert production provided the necessary mix to develop outdoor amphitheaters capable of theater productions. Working both in Cincinnati and on the circuit with touring productions provided a lead to varying production, operations and development roles with the start up of amphitheaters in Phoenix, Charlotte and San Bernardino, CA. Development, operations and theatrical experience was called upon during 1993, as Patrick managed the production and operations through the renovations and expansions of the War Memorial Theater, Arena and Convention Center at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex (NC) and preceded Patrick's next steps moving him from venue development and a local promoter role in Columbus, OH to a Midwest regional and national management role with Clear Channel Entertainment. 

Roles from 1994 to 2005 in the amphitheater and music management sectors included Amphitheater GM, National Director of Field Operations, Regional VP, Senior VP, EVP and COO through out the consolidation of the live concert industry with SFX Entertainment and Clear Channel Entertainment (CCE). During this career advancement, Patrick has development a creative approach to expanding business services, increasing fan satisfaction and improving the event experience. 

Patrick resigned his post with CCE at the end of 2005 to establish a more service focused firm, offering management consulting, project management and recruiting services to the public assembly facility industry.
